DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - American Francesca Di Lorenzo is into the quarterfinals of the Hardee's Pro Classic in Dothan and isn't looking any further.
"I'm in the quarters now. I got a couple more matches till that happens," said Di Lorenzo. "So, I'm just looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully I can get past that."
The 20-year-old from Pittsburgh has put on quite a show for the Wiregrass over the past week as she had to win the qualifier just to make the main draw.
Di Lorenzo has had to play five matches at the Hardee's Pro Classic just to make it to the quarterfinals and in doing so, she's only d ropped one set.
"For me, just getting confidence knowing that I had three good matches under my belt coming into the main draw. It definitely helps," said Di Lorenzo. "Obviously you can get all more physically tired because you have had three matches, but I think it was really good for me to get that confidence."
Di Lorenzo has already collected one title in 2018 and is now just three wins away from taking home another one.
"I really like the clay and I think it suits my game really well,"'said Di Lorenzo. "I like to move. I like to slide. So being on the clay, I feel like I can get to a lot of balls so I can make my opponent play one extra ball every time. When I have my chance, I try to get on offense."
Di Lorenzo will look for her sixth victory at the Westgate Tennis Center when she takes on Barbara Haas on Friday.
