A little bit of a mixed bag for our weather today. Cloud cover stuck around longer for some than others. The sunshine disparity also leading to a wide array of temperatures across central and south Alabama. As we wear on deeper into the afternoon we'll have more sunshine for more areas. Afternoon highs today peaking in the mid to upper 70s for most.
But just as skies clear up a bit, more clouds roll in tomorrow ahead of the rain that will arrive tomorrow morning. We're in for a wet Thursday, especially north Alabama during the morning hours.
The bulk of the rain will come through during the morning but a few showers will hang around through the afternoon and evening. The good news is severe weather is not a pressing issue with this system but as always we'll watch radar closely for anything alarming and be sure be the first ones to alert you.
We'll have another small disturbance Friday that will swing through. There are signs we could see a few showers but models are trending drier for the last day of the workweek. Let's hope that trend continues. Regardless Saturday and Sunday will be bright, sunny and warm. Afternoon highs will be around 80 degrees both days. The warming trend will continue after the weekend, with afternoon highs reaching the mid 80s by Wednesday.
