Our Thursday started off gloomy and wet, but as expected the rain pushed into Georgia early this afternoon and the sun returned. We'll continue with improving conditions this evening and tonight as partly cloudy skies turn mostly clear. Lows overnight will fall into the low to mid 50s. Winds will be breezy out of the west around 10 MPH.
After today's rain we're in for a nice dry stretch. Expect sunny and warm conditions tomorrow and through the weekend. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 70s Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That's very good news for all of our weekend events. Friday we have the big Concert for Peace and Justice down at the Montgomery Riverfront tomorrow night. Other than being a bit cool towards the end of the concert, the weather will be just fine.
This weekend we'll have Troyfest, Auburn Cityfest, Talladega race weekend and many other outdoor events. Just know no matter where you are this weekend in Alabama, you're in for some fantastic weather!
After the weekend. dry conditions will hold steady as the thermometer continues to rise. Afternoon highs will jump up into the low 80s Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Rain re-enters the forecast Wednesday and Thursday, but coverage looks isolated at best at this point.
