Alabama will feel the heat over the next few days! Afternoon temperatures will almost certainly go above 90 degrees several times through early next week, as a Summer-like pattern cranks up the heat across the state.
Along with the heat, we'll dodge a few raindrops. Isolated showers and storms will pop up across the landscape each afternoon. The coverage of rain will be rather small (10-20%), and the rain will only last 20-30 minutes in any given spot. Many will simply be dry and very warm.
This hot pattern with pop-up showers and storms will continue through the weekend and into next week.
Some COOL news - the Hurricane Awareness Tour will be making a stop in Montgomery this week!
On Thursday from 2-5pm at Montgomery Regional Airport, you can tour two of the Hurricane Hunter aircraft, speak with the pilots, and walk through vendor exhibits from various local agencies and organizations. And, StormTracker 12 will be there, too. The event is FREE to the public!
We are also hosting our Weather Radio Day on Thursday from 3-7pm at the Walgreens in Troy - a good chance to make sure your weather radio is properly programmed!
