No Troy church members in van that crashed in Mississippi

LAUDERDALE, MS (WSFA) -

A church van bearing the name of a Troy, Alabama church was involved in a crash in Mississippi Tuesday afternoon, but no one from Alabama was inside.

According to Carissa Gray, secretary of The Pentecostal Christian Academy in Meridian, five children and three adults from the Meridian area were inside the van at the time of the crash.

Gray said the headquarters for the church is in Meridian, and the headquarters has been using the van from the Troy church for at least a year. However, the writing on the side of the van hasn't been changed.

The children and adults in the van suffered minor injuries and were evaluated at a hospital.

Mississippi news station WTOK reported the crash happened around 3:20 p.m. on Highway 45 in Lauderdale County.
