PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The Prattville Police Department is revealing the identity of a previously unnamed minor who was among two suspects charged in connection with a Prattville apartment complex shooting.
Police Chief Mark Thompson confirmed the 17-year-old is Clarence Clayton Morgan. Thompson released Morgan's name because he is now charged as an adult.
Morgan and 19-year-old Montgomery resident Deshaun Jones were arrested in north Alabama's Marshall County and returned to Prattville Tuesday night.
Jones is charged with felony attempted murder. Morgan, who is said to have been the driver, is charged with first-degree assault.
The suspects were wanted for a shooting that injured one victim at the Highland Lakes Apartment complex Sunday. Police say multiple shots were fired at the apartments and during a chase that ensued between the victim and suspects.
The 19-year-old victim was shot in the lower back.
An AK-47 style rifle was recovered at the scene, which police say was involved in the incident but not used during the shooting.
A mugshot for Morgan is not yet available.
