ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) -

The Andalusia Fire Department has updated the status of the warehouse on Through Street that caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Russell McGlamory calls it, "a total loss." McGlamory also said the cause of the fire has still yet to be determined.

The warehouse, previously a plumbing supply business and batting cage, was owned by an individual not a business, he said. McGlamory said the warehouse was being used for storage and had painting supplies inside.

McGlamory said the fire department has been back several times Thursday to put out "hot spots" and there has even been some smoke in some places.

Firefighters and police responded to a large fire in Andalusia Wednesday afternoon, which could be seen from WSFA 12 News' local towercam.

Authorities confirmed the fire was at a warehouse on Through Street. Crews brought the blaze under control and were extinguishing some hotspots nearly two hours after the fire began.

Investigators confirm no one was inside the building. McGlamory confirmed there were no injuries.
