RAMER, AL (WSFA) - A Ramer man is facing child abuse charges following an incident that took place on Sunday.

Nathaniel Williams Jr. is charged with torture, willful abuse of a child under the age of 18-years of age. The incident took place in the 200 block of Wilkins Lane in Ramer around 7:36 p.m., according to court documents.

Court documents indicate Williams "abused, cruelly beat or otherwise maltreated" his child by punching and kicking the child. The actions resulted in moderate bruising to the child's face, arm, and back.

Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility. He was placed under a $15,000 bond.
