TALLAPOOSA CO., AL (WSFA) -

A Tallapoosa County district judge has set a trial date for homicide suspect Clate McDaniel.

Court records show McDaniel has been charged with murder in connection to the death of Norman Dean Crayton. Hunters found Crayton's body in January 2016, in a wooded area south of Dadeville. Investigators say he suffered gunshot wounds.

Judge Tom Young set McDaniel's trial to begin the week of June 5.

McDaniel is currently in the Tallapoosa County jail.
