Our area of low pressure in the northern Gulf of Mexico isn't showing any signs of organization this morning. That means tropical development remains unlikely, but something still being monitored.
Regardless, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region into the afternoon. We're looking at rain chances around 50 percent Tuesday, ramping up to 70 percent by Wednesday. While it won't rain everywhere all day long, coverage each afternoon will be fairly widespread with embedded heavy downpours.
The increase in clouds and rain will help take the edge off the heat. That keeps highs in the 80s for the rest of the week.
