MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

This sounds like a great way to start your weekend. Lace up your shoes, get some exercise, and help punch cancer in the mouth. It’s the 40th annual Jubilee Run.

Several years ago it was renamed the Combat Cancer Jubilee Run with all proceeds going to the American Society’s Relay for Life Program.

"I've lost too many friends to cancer,” said Becky Duncan, a board member for the Combat Cancer Jubilee Run. “I have too many friends fighting this disease. I want it to go away. We want to put cancer out of business,"

The run is this Saturday, in Old Alabama Town in downtown Montgomery. It winds up and down the hills of historic downtown Montgomery. Every step you take will get us one step closer to eliminating cancer. It’s a disease that seems to impacts everyone.

"Seven years ago I had cancer. I was told I had the best kind there is to have. Frankly, I don't think there is a good kind to have,” Duncan said.

Online registration ends Thursday at noon. You can register here.

There are a variety of races to choose from. The big one, the 8K, starts at 7:30 a.m. There’s a one-mile walk/run that starts at 8:45 and the Tot Trot starts at 9:45. I will be out there cheering you on so sign up and let’s kick cancer’s butt together!
