PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

After about two years of work and millions of dollars, renovations to the Marriott Prattville at Capitol Hill are complete.

Leaders say every square inch of the property has seen upgrades, including the 96 guest rooms, meeting spaces, and the Presidential Cottage.

More than 105,000 square feet of new carpet was installed, and 300 gallons of paint applied, to provide the hotel with a new look.

"It's important to keep the property fresh, as well as just to update everything," said Walter Kennedy, the general manager at the Marriott Prattville. "Our new renovation with rooms and the Presidential Cottage is very different, the decor and the colors is very different than what we had. It's much more modern and new."

Since the hotel opened in 2000, more than 500,000 guests have stayed at the location, with a million more attending events at the conference center.
