Selma holds free Friday movie nights in June

SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

The Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail and the City of Selma are presenting free movies in June at the Selma Riverwalk Amphitheater.

Each Friday evening, a different Civil Rights related movie will be shown.

  • "The Butler" will be shown June 1.
  • "Ruby Bridges" will be shown June 8, kids night.
  • "Freedom Song" will be shown June 15.
  • "Selma" will be shown June 22.

Gates will open at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free.

Guests are invited to bring chairs, blankets, food and non-alcoholic drinks. 

In the event of bad weather, the movie nights will be moved to the Selma Interpretive Center at 2 Broad St.
