MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Fresh off a five-game sweep over the Mississippi Braves, the Montgomery Biscuits (31-29) return to Riverwalk Stadium on Friday night riding a seven-game winning streak to face off with the first-place Chattanooga Lookouts (33-27).

The Biscuits trail the Lookouts by just two games in the Southern League North Division standings with ten games remaining in the first half of the season.

After a slow start to the year the Biscuits have gotten hot in May and June. Montgomery is 15-4 in its last 19 games.

Outfielder Nathan Lukes leads the team with a .308 batting average, while Southern League All-Star Nick Solak leads the team in home runs (8) and runs scored (41). He is tied with Jacksonville's Montre Harrison for the Southern League lead in runs scored.

On the mound the Biscuits are led by All-Star Zach Lee who is tops on the team with six wins. Fellow All-Star Genesis Cabrera leads the team in strikeouts (74) and is third in the Southern League in that category.

The Chattanooga Lookouts lead the Southern League North Division with a 33-27 record but enter Riverwalk Stadium with a 3-7 record over their last ten games.

The Lookouts pitchers are good at missing bats. Their staff is second in the league in strikeouts this season with 557, but the Biscuits offense has the second fewest strikeouts in the league this season with 464.

Game one of the five game series is Friday at 6:35 p.m. J.D. Martin (4-7) will start for the Biscuits while the Lookouts will counter with Lewis Thorpe (2-3).

The series also includes Wizard Night, featuring a jersey auction and fireworks on Saturday, as well as the Sundae Sunday Ice Cream Social Sunday.

To say the Biscuits are streaking would be an understatement. They're red hot. They've won 11 of their last 12 games and moved from the bottom cellar of the Southern League North Division into a half game back of first place.
