MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An Alabama man who shares the same name as a famous rock singer will spend the next three decades in prison.
Ozzy Osborne, 27, of Montgomery, was sentenced Thursday for the murder of 30-year-old Rodrekas Zeigler, Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey confirmed.
"Due to the hard work of our Violent Crime Team, the Montgomery Police Department, the witnesses and the jury, we were able to remove another violent offender from our community," Bailey said. "Our community is tired of these senseless murders and it is my hope this conviction and the sentencing will reinforce the message that there are extreme consequences to violent actions."
Osborne walked into a barbershop on Lower Wetumpka Road around 4:30 on Sept. 11, 2015, according to witnesses, then shot his victim once in the neck.
Osborne was convicted in late May and faced a sentence of between 20 years to life in prison.
