Amanda: Summer-like Sunday expected

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - After a hot and humid start to our Saturday, some towns were lucky enough to receive some relief from the heat thanks to a few passing storms.

Rain will become more isolated in nature later this evening, but one or two more pop-up showers are still possible through the overnight hours. Lows will stay mild overnight with temperatures falling to the low 70s.

A pesky low pressure system is sticking around, so rain chances do return again for Father's Day. Sunday will be similar to Saturday with a hot and humid start followed by scattered storms that developing during the afternoon.

Temperatures will warm to near 90° for those who stay dry.

By Monday, high pressure amplifies over our area, so we'll start to trend a tad drier going into the new workweek. Rain chances still remain in the forecast, but the amount of showers and storms on radar will be noticeably lower.

The heat will crank up where rain doesn't fall, and by mid-week, highs are expected to climb into the low 90s.
