Nation’s top waterskier lives in Dothan

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - 18-year-old Sean Hunter has been tearing up the waves ever since kindergarten.

The Dothan native has been waterskiing for the last 12 years and has developed quite the knack for the sport. Hunter is currently the number one ranked waterskier in the United States for boys 18 and under and is in the top 10 in the world for 21 and under.

Hunter has collected some serious hardware during his time on the lake including winning the Malibu Open and the Junior US Open. He will look to add a world championship title to his resume next year.

Before that though, Hunter will enroll at Alabama this fall where he will join their waterskiing team in hopes of helping the Tide bring home a national championship.
