MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Capitol Hill Healthcare, a long-term care facility in Montgomery, has received the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award through the National Quality Award Program.
The National Quality Awards are presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living to association members that have shown dedication to improving the quality of care for seniors and those with disabilities.
By winning the bronze-level award, Capitol Hill Healthcare has shown commitment to the development of an organizational profile including a vision and mission statement, key strengths and challenges and a performance improvement system.
Capitol Hill Healthcare is one of nine facilities in Alabama to receive this award in 2018.
"It's tremendous to be honored on a national level for our commitment to care and to know that our efforts are helping our residents live better lives," said Capitol Hill administrator Sharon Baker.
By winning the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award, Capitol Hill Healthcare can now work toward meeting the criteria of the Silver Achievement in Quality Award, the next in the three-tier system of awards that range from Bronze to Gold.
"I applaud Capitol Hill for taking this important step towards quality improvement," said Alana Wolfe, chair of the board of the National Quality Awards. "I encourage Capitol Hill to continue on its path to achieving superior outcomes."
The awards will be presented at the AHCA/NCAL's 69th Annual Convention and Exposition in October.
