PIKE ROAD, AL (WSFA) - Pike Road Middle School will start classes in the fall with a new principal.
Vicki Davis, a 20-year veteran of public education, has worked previously in a variety of positions at Dothan City Schools and as an adjunct professor at Troy University. Now she will bring that experience to the Pike Road school system.
"I felt that this was the right time and the right opportunity because it gives me the ability to live out my philosophy of education," Davis said. "Teachers are allowed to provide individualized instruction for their classes based on state standards, and I fully believe this method of instruction is what's best for children."
Although she said it will take time for her and everyone else to settle in, she said she is excited to work with the current Pike Road employees.
"We are excited to welcome Principal Davis to the Pike Road Schools family," said Dr. Chuck Ledbetter, Pike Road Schools Superintendent. "Her passion, experience and energy make her a perfect addition to the PRS administrative team."
