MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The names of two women who were shot and killed Tuesday night are being released by the Montgomery Police Department.

Investigators say Cynthia Hand, 41, and Erica Allen, 29, both of Montgomery, died after what an initial investigation determined was a verbal altercation that escalated into a shooting.

Authorities say multiple people were involved though no arrests have been made.

The homicides happened in the 4700 block of Narrow Lane Road shortly before 7:45 p.m.

First responders found Hand dead on the scene. Allen was transported to an area hospital where she later died.
