WSFA Internships

WSFA 12 NEWS INTERNSHIPS
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

What's an internship?

Students participating in the WSFA 12 News Internship Program get intense, hands-on broadcast news experience and training. Participants must be enrolled in an academic program at an accredited college or university for which credit will be awarded at the successful completion of the internship.

What's required?

WSFA 12 must be informed in writing of the number of course credit hours or other credit to be awarded at the completion of the internship, how many man-hours the college requires the student to work, and what kind of performance evaluation is required, if any. Students must also present WSFA 12 a resume and complete a Raycom Media Corporation packet before any internship program can begin.

How to apply?

All interns will be required to come to an organizational meeting involving all current interns for a tour of the station and to get a full explanation of the expectations.

No phone calls please.
Candidates should email the department they are interested in interning to ask about availability.

If you are interested in a news Internship, email Desmond Wingard at dwingard@wsfa.com.

Requirements

Students must contact WSFA at least 2 months ahead of the semester to check availability to be considered.
You must get school credit in order to participate.
You must work at least 20 hours a week.
We expect interns to treat the opportunity just like a job. You must take it seriously, be on time, come ready to learn, and complete assigned tasks.
