MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The second annual Made for Moms Expo was held Saturday at the Montgomery Convention Center!
The event was free and lasted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It featured family-fun events from vendors to prizes and giveaways!
There was also a fashion show, activities for the kiddos, and a man cave for the important man in your life. Many stopped by and got a selfie with their favorite WSFA 12 Newspersonality in our photo booth or tried out their hand at forecasting on our green screen!
There was a speaker series featuring important topics ranging from “mom-shaming” to handling life as a working mom.
The speaker series included:
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE with guest speaker Wendy Fuller, the senior prevention educator at the Family Sunshine Center (9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.)
THE SHAME IN THE MOM-GAME with guest speaker Uduak Afangideh, a life coach and professor at Faulkner University ( 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
BALANCING CAREER AND MOTHERHOOD with a Q&A from WSFA moms Valorie Lawson and Bethany Davis (11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.)
There was even an opportunity to win a makeover! The makeover was won by either purchasing a raffle ticket the day of the event or by bringing a donation from the list below:
$10 Walmart gift cards
All of the proceeds and donations from the makeover will benefit Mary Ellen’s Hearth, which works to give River Region moms a second chance.
