BUTLER COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - The next coroner of Butler County was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor menacing charge, according to Sheriff Kenny Harden.
According to Harden, deputies arrested Ollie Scott and transported him to the Butler County Jail where he was later released on a $1,000 bond.
Harden said Scott was arrested following an incident that happened Sunday on Rivers Drive in Greenville.
According to the arrest report, Harden said Scott and the victim got into a verbal altercation after Scott came to the residence and turn off the water. That's when the victim reported that Scott pulled a gun and made a threat.
WSFA 12 News has reached out to Scott for comment but has not yet heard back from him.
Scott won the Democratic nomination for coroner in the June primaries. Since no Republican sought the office, Scott will win the November general election without opposition.
