It's a great place for kids and adults to get out and enjoy the outdoors. But there's a hidden danger at this horse ranch in Millbrook and it has nothing to do with the animals. Bob Phillips emailed the Streets of Speed and wanted us to check it out.
When we pulled out Zapper 12 we didn't catch anybody going way over the speed limit, but Phillips says it's and accident waiting to happen. "We get people flying down this gravel road 50 to 60 miles per hour, they know kids are playing but they do it anyway," Phillips said. Thornfield Drive is a dirt road cut through between County Road 3 and County Road 7 in Millbrook. "If they (drivers) hit a 1,000 pound horse it'll probably kill them, it they hit a kid I might kill them."
Phillips would like to see more officers patrolling the area and more signs alerting drivers of the speed limit. WSFA 12 News spoke with the Millbrook Police Department and they told us to expect more officers in the area in the near future. As for more signs, County officials say they'll got out to Thornfield Drive and take a look.
