Slashing Victim Speaks

One look at 9 year old Nakia Tucker and you can see that she's beautiful and vivacious.

Below the surface you will find a straight A student who loves school...  She says, "Math um hummmm reading, science ."  She's looking forward to Christmas and has a list for Santa.

Nakia says, "Barbie doll house, barbie doll car, bratz wild wild west, bratz rock angel and roller skates .. Pink roller skates.

Put anything Bratz or Barbie in front of her and her wounds seem to fade.

I want to make it curly now ... Ha ha you can't wait!

Although braiding hair seems to the primary focus here she also loves to read....

Nakia says "I like Nate the Great and the missing kings."

Nakia and her family has a lot to deal with after the murder of her mother and brother. This Christmas will be tough.

Kirby B, Nakia's mother's step brother says, "Having to do these two funerals ... The money's going to be a crunch any way, but if she had a great Christmas I think that would bring her spirits up."

He says right now everyone is holding up. But there is still some concern for Nakia's maternal grandmother's health. As for Nakia ... She's making plans..."I'm going to open my christmas presents early in the morning about 6, if they be woke up!"

There is a way you can help.  That's to make a donation either to the Nakia Tucker Christmas Fund or the James/Tucker Funeral Fund, care of V.O.C.A.L. and send it to P.O. Box 4449 Montgomery, Al .  36103 .
