No. 7 Auburn to play Wisconsin in Capital One Bowl

AUBURN, Ala. The Auburn Tigers will play Number 21 Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl on January 2nd.

The seventh-ranked Tigers accepted the invitation today after failing to receive an at-large bid to a BCS Bowl.

It will mark Auburn's third trip in the last six years to the Orlando-based bowl game. The Tigers also played Wisconsin (9-3) in the 2003 Music City Bowl, winning 28-to-14.

The Tigers have won their last three bowl games -- including a 13-9 win over Virginia Tech in the 2005 Sugar Bowl. They moved into contention for an at-large BCS berth with wins over Georgia and Alabama to end the season. Both teams were ranked in the Top 10 at the time.

Auburn is 3-1 all-time at the Capital One Bowl, including wins in 2001 and 2003.

The Tigers will return to practice on December 14 and work out in Auburn for a week.
