Downed Tree Limbs Knock Out Power

As a tropical storm, Barry downed a lot of tree limbs. Alabama power told WSFA before noon less than one thousand of their customers didn't have electricity. Jan Ellis said crews hustled to get the power back on.

About thirty seven thousand Florida customers lost power when the storm knocked out a transmission line and thirteen main feeders overnight Monday in the Florida panhandle. That's about half of the Destin area with another nine thousand or so in and around Panama City. Florida power officials say most customers should have their power back on by Tuesday. Some remote areas may take longer.
