MONTGOMERY, Ala. Governor Bob Riley has appointed attorney Stan Garner Junior to a vacancy on the Dale County District Court created by last month's death of Judge George Trawick.
Garner's appointment is effective immediately, according to the governor in a statement issued yesterday. Riley described the veteran attorney as "well qualified" for the post.Garner, a 1984 graduate of the University of Alabama law school, has been in private practice in Ozark since 1991. He has also served as an attorney in the U-S Navy.Garner, who is active in his church and a volunteer coach with the Ozark Parks and Recreation Department, said he appreciate the confidence Governor Riley has placed in him and promises to work hard as a judge.
