Kim's Cheesecake Bars

Recipe from Theresa Lohr of Mich.

For Filling
2 packages cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 Egg yolk

For Crust
2 packages crescent rolls
1 egg white
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 335 degrees. Combine the cream cheese, vanilla, 1 cup sugar and egg yolk until smooth. Set aside. Mix the egg white, 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside. In a greased 9 x 13 baking pan spread out 1 package of the crescent rolls so that rolls are all flattened out in the bottom of the pan. Turn in filling mixture spreading it out evenly. Cover with the second package of crescent rolls. Glaze the top with the egg white and cinnamon mixture and make sure that all of the crescents are covered. This will give it the golden brown look. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until browned nicely on top. Cool completely in refrigerator for about an hour or overnight. Cut into bars, serve, and enjoy!

In Italian, the word "gelato" means "frozen" more than it means "ice cream." So, for as much as we have heard that gelato is the Italian equivalent of ice cream, this "gelato" is really a frozen mousse

So, for as much as we have heard that gelato is the Italian equivalent of ice cream, this "gelato" is really a frozen mousse of a dessert. Quick and easy, with no ice cream maker needed, this dessert may be served as a chilled mousse or frozen completely as a "gelato."

Celebrate warm weather with nature's sweet berries. Simply served with a light dusting of powdered sugar, this dessert is not a sugar overload, because it relies on the natural sweetness of in-season berries.

Here is smoky and slightly spicy twist on fried catfish. Instead of coating the catfish in a thick beer batter, I marinate the raw pieces in beer before seasoning them and lightly dredging them in flour
