COPY-George Jones in hospital to get treatment for pneumonia

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Country singer George Jones has been hospitalized for pneumonia.

His Bandit Records label said today the 74-year-old Southeast Texas native is expected to make a full recovery. But doctors advised him to enter Nashville's Baptist Hospital yesterday for treatment.

His weekend performances in Albany, Georgia, Panama City and Chattanooga will be rescheduled.

Jones' hits include "He Stopped Loving Her Today," "The Race Is On," "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" and "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair." He has been touring to support his 2005 album "Hits I Missed ... And One I Didn't" and performing at about 95 shows a year.

Jones was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992.

He underwent a triple bypass of his coronary arteries in September 1994.
