Heads of Anti-Terrorism Task Forces Named

Three federal attorneys will head anti-terrorism task forces in their districts of Alabama.

This is part of a nationwide network formed by U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Niven of Montgomery, will serve as anti-terrorism coordinator for Alabama's middle district.

The task forces will act, in part, as a conduit for information about suspected terrorists between the federal and local agencies. The task forces will also coordinate terrorism prevention efforts and assist in the response to any terrorist incident in their district.
