The Department Of Corrections Is Under Attack In Federal Courts

The court ruled against the Department of Corrections for not providing adequate medical care for inmates, and asked an outside expert to monitor Tutwiler. Two years later, the expert says the deparment of corrections has fixed only twenty-one of  eighty-six problems at the facility, some as simple as providing daily medicine to inmates or creating an infection control system. The Southern Center for Human Rights wants the judge to speed up the schedule for changes and hold the Department of Corrections in contempt.
