Prattville Police Make Arrest In Durden Road Murder

The Prattville Police Department has made an arrest in the case involving the death of a man found partially lying in a baby swimming pool in front of a house on Durden Road Monday night around 9:20 p.m.

24-year-old Matthew Shane Burdette was arrested Tuesday morning and placed in the Autauga Metro Jail on $100,000 bond.

Burdette is being charged with murder.  Burdette is accused of stabbing to death a 43-year-old man, whose name is not yet being released by police.

According to police a warrant was issued for Burdette Monday night but Burdette, who also suffered from minor wounds from the incident, was taken to Prattville Baptist Hospital.  Police say alcohol was involved in this incident.

The unnamed victim, Burdette and Burdette's girlfriend and her two small children were at the residence when the alleged crime took place.

No motive for the alleged murder is is known at this time.

This is the first murder in Prattville since 2003.
