Attorney General Considers Investigation of Dothan Police Chief

DOTHAN, Ala. --  Attorney General Troy King said his office will determine within the next few weeks if they need to investigate allegations of ticket-fixing by Dothan Police Chief John Powell.

King said his office received a letter last month from the local police union regarding the fixing of two tickets.

He said an investigation will only take place if there is probable cause that a crime has happened.

Powell, who feels like the issue has already been address, also sent a letter to King encouraging an investigation to clear his and the department's name.
