Ephesians 2:8-10

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not for yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

Once again, the Christmas season is upon us, and shoppers everywhere are busy searching for the right gift to give to friends and family members as a way of showing our love for them. We're not satisfied until we've found that perfect gift that will be met on Christmas morning with big smiles and lots of oohs and ahhs.

In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he tells of God's gift for us - the perfect gift - God's gift of salvation through Christ Jesus. Our salvation and even our faith are gifts from God. How do we respond to God's great gift? Do we respond with thanksgiving, praise and with joyful hearts?

This Christmas season, let us extend our gratitude to God in the way we will seek and help to serve others. Let us make giving a daily priority, giving to all we meet or whose lives we touch with our smiles, a kind and encouraging word, our prayers, our time and ourselves. God calls us to give our best to all who need it. This Christmas and always, let us all be great givers just as our Father in Heaven is The Great Giver.

Prayer: Thank you God for your perfect and great gift. Show me today ways that I can share your love with others around me. Show me what I have to offer. Amen.
