OPELIKA, Ala. --  A double homicide in Opelika is under investigation today.

According to Lee County Coroner Bill Harris, at approximately 8:30 last night Opelika police responded to a 911 call to a possible shooting in Lakeshore Trailer Park.

Harris said officers and paramedics found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. He identified the victims as 33-year-old Marrell Holland and 19-year-old Matthew Thomas, both of Opelika. The two were taken to East Alabama Medical Center where they died a short time later.

No arrests were made and Harris said police are treating both deaths as homicides.
