Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son and shall name him Immanuel.

And what a sign the Christ-child was! The gift beyond all imagining or wishing, and all wrapped in a tiny, fragile package, in the vulnerable guise of a humble, lowly carpenter's son. After such a stunning sign from God, why have any of us ever doubted since? We too are so fragile and vulnerable and continue to search, when all we have to do is follow the same star to the same destination. God gave His Son to atone for our sins, and at this time in our world, it is Christ who gives us hope for the future and comfort in all our hurting struggles.

Let us look for God's "signs" of His love for us in everything we do and in everyone we meet. God loves us, purely, undeservedly, and He gave us His Son to show us just how much.

Prayer: Dear Lord, let us this day and every day of our lives devoutly seek the "signs" You send us, that we might ever know and do Your Will for our lives. In Christ's Holy name, Amen.
