NATIONAL SIGNING DAY FOR THE GOLDEN TIGERS FOOTBALL TEAM

TUSKEGEE, Ala. - (February 7, 2007) - The months of suspense are over. Some of the nation's most highly sought after prospects have chosen to sign with their school of choice.

For 22 players, National Signing Day seals their oral commitment to become Golden Tigers.

The Golden Tigers won a co-SIAC championship, and won Pioneer Bowl IX under first-year Head Coach Willie Slater.

With the new recruits, Slater and his staff add depth and versatility to what was a 10-2 football team a year ago.

"A few areas we wanted to address were defensive back, defensive lineman and a kicker. We also signed the number one rated wide-receiver on our board," said Slater. "So I think we did well today."

As the "winningest" historically Black college or university in America, Tuskegee University has 589 career wins and is only 11 away from the 600 mark in overall victories.
