On Tour: Honan House

The Eufaula Pilgrimage... A walking tour of historic homes.... Begins Friday... One of the top attractions is the honan house.... This house can be summed up in one word... Family...

"my grandfather bought the house in 1876, william petry, he bought it, and we've lived there ever since." for the last 130 years... This has been the Honan House... It's all about family.

"this is the house in 1881, the lady on the left is my great grandmother." in this room... A family tree.. A picture of every little boy who has ever lived in this room... Everywhere you look... It's a trip back in time..

"we call this our 1900s room, the organ was made in 1901, one of my favorites is this kodak camera, i believe it's 1902, it's called a kodak pokcket model camera."

there's a men's parlor... And a women's parlor... And in the dining room antique silverware.... "the table is set wit the china and crystal and silver of 6 generations of ladies who've lived in this house."

behind the house... The original kitchen... It was in use until the mid 40's... You won't find these at your local appliance store... The stove and oven... Are almost 90-years old...

The Honan House... is a true masterpiece... And while keeping it up is a lot of work... The owners wouldn't have it any other way...

"some people are amazed people actually live here, they think it's a museusm. "eufaula has a great history a lot of old homes and we as owners get excited about that... They think it's cool to talk to someone who lives in this house."

One other really cool feature...The Hanon House has a working canon outside... They fire it off every year during the Eufaula Pilgrimage...

They have 80 volunteers working at the Honan House during the Pilgrimage... A lot of them will be in costume..
