From the war in Iraq to issues closer to home it was all up for discussion during a town hall meeting led by Republican Senator Jeff Sessions.
The Alabama lawmaker sat down with residents in Notasulga Tuesday.
Sessions told the crowd President Bush will veto any bill that contains a withdrawal date for troops in Iraq.
He also criticized democrats behind the effort to bring troops home early.
"It basically sends a message to the enemy that this is our quit date, we are gone and that encourages them to lay back, delay their plans then up their efforts later I really think it's bad and I think it's the wrong thing to do."
