One tiny part of Chilton County is bursting at the seems.
It's residents are literally piled on top of each other and there's no relief in sight.
Now the Chilton County Humane Society needs your help.
The animals are side by side, paw to paw, trying to do anything to get noticed and also to get a new home.
The Chilton County Humane Society is packed and in need of some major improvements.
Tabatha Freeman of the Chilton Humane Society tells WSFA, "It's been here about 15 years. Our board of directors wants to raise money to build isolation buildings to separate the sick ones, and our back kennel needs to be repainted and redone. We need cleaning supplies and dog and cat food."
It'll take about $70,000 to get this place fixed up to take care of the animals.
And more space might give these cute little faces just a few more days to find a new home.
Freeman also says, "If I don't have the room, they have to be euthanized. If we had more room they could stay here longer."
The Chilton County Humane Society is hoping to raise a lot of money with it's "Pooch King and Queen Contest" and it's Chilton County Doggie Idol Contest.
The 2007 Chilton County Pooch Queen and King contest and the Doggie Idol is scheduled for May 19th at 2 pm. The location will be at Goosepond Park off Highway 31 in Clanton.
