Days of Rain Flood North Alabama

The rain we've seen is nothing compared to what folks in North Alabama are dealing with. Parts of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Lawrence counties are all underwater, forcing many road and school closings.

For two days, heavy rains have fallen in Northwest Alabama. In most areas, streams are flooded over their banks, roads are too dangerous to use, and in some areas water has been waist-deep and people have had to leave their homes.

The national weather service says the rain should taper off there Friday.
