The Senate has followed the House in approving a war spending bill that orders US troops to start withdrawing from Iraq by October.
And the Alabama connection: our Congressional delegation was divided - predictably - on the issue.
In the US House of Representatives, the state's two democratic lawmakers - Bud Cramer and Artur Davis sided with the majority while five republicans - Terry Everett, Robert Aderholt, Spencer Bachus, Mike Rogers and Jo Bonner voted against the bill.
The senate followed suit...passing the bill with its withdrawal date.
President bush has vowed to veto it, and democrats know they do not have the votes to override that veto.
