Alabama State Breaks Ground On New Classrooms

Alabama State University is breaking ground on new, high-tech classrooms.

The Department of Biological Science broke ground Friday on a building to house their graduate and undergraduate students.

The five story building will have state of the art research labs, animal rooms and walk in cold rooms.

The College of Education is also breaking ground on the second largest construction project in the history of ASU.

The 142,000 square foot building will be constructed in the Bel Aire Community and wil have simulated classrooms, research labs and an assembly hall.

    Nearly 2,000 children were separated from their families over a six-week period in April and May after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a new "zero-tolerance" policy that refers all cases of illegal entry for criminal prosecution.
