State To Test Reversing Interstate 65 Before Hurricane Season Starts

Hurricane season is three weeks away and the Alabama department of transportation is getting ready.

On Tuesday, state department of transportation officials and state troopers will rehearse the hurricane evacuation plan. The plan reverses southbound traffic on Interstate 65 to allow four northbound lanes to evacuate the coast. On Tuesday, about 200 state transportation workers and state troopers will be positioned along I-65 between Baldwin County and Montgomery to test the plan.

Traffic won't actually be reversed.
