An Alabama Soldier Dies in Iraq

The Pentagon has identified six soldier killed in a roadside bombing in Iraq as from Fort Hood.  The Defense Department says they died Saturday in Baghdad of wounds suffered when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle.

One of those was 27-year-old Sergeant Jean P. Medlin of Pelham, Alabama

They were serving with the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood.
