Postman Credited for Saving Red Level Man's Life

The death toll in this ongoing heatwave could have been even higher than it already is if it hadn't been for a watchful postman.

A postal worker in Covington County is credited for saving the life of a Red Level man.

Police say the postal worker got worried about an 89-year-old customer who hadn't picked up his mail in a few days.

The worker contacted sheriff's deputies who later found the man in his home, dehydrated.

That man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is now doing fine.
