Huntsville TV Station Employee's Burned Body Found

ARDMORE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is probing the death of a Huntsville television station employee, whose burned body was found on her carport in Ardmore, Tennessee.

The city is on the Tennessee-Alabama line about 25 miles north of Huntsville where she worked for WAAY-TV.

Station employees identify the victim as Peggy Jiles.

Station management says the 47-year-old Jiles worked in the traffic department, which schedules programs and commercial announcements.

WAAY General Manager Ray Depa says Jiles worked her regular shift on Wednesday.

Employees became concerned when she didn't arrive or call in Thursday.

Ardmore police were called Thursday morning and told someone had been found dead at the home.

City police called in the TBI and investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
