On most days you'll find students criss-crossing the grassy quad on Troy University's campus.
Rushing to class or just stopping to chat with a friend are common sites in the area, but Tuesday seems a little different.
Students at Troy University are hosting a silent reminder for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The green grass has given way to a sea of red, white and blue.
That's because the Troy University College of Republicans placed just under 3,000 brand new American flags into the soil all across the campus quad.
It is their way of showing respect for each life that was taken six years ago.
