A Greenville man who was seriously injured in a hit and run accident is doing better.
Family members say 63-year-old Sylvester Thomas is now out of the hospital and resting at home.
Thomas' son Jay tells WSFA 12 News, "We are grateful to God for sparing dad and we're very happy to be home. We cannot say enough or give enough thanks for the outpouring of concern and support our dad has had since last Monday morning.
Thomas was hit by a passing vehicle on U.S Highway 331 in Montgomery when he got out of his car to help another driver.
That driver had crashed into a pole after suffering a diabetic blackout.
